Place: the Ore Mountains in the Czech Republic and Germany
Theme: Hiking without borders in the mining landscape of the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří
What is EURORANDO?
EURORANDO is Europe's largest meeting of hikers under the auspices of the European Hiking Federation (ERA). It takes place once every 5 years during the off-peak season - reminiscent of the Hiking Olympics. The event is usually attended by 3-5 thousand people from all over Europe.
Existing host countries:
- 2001 France
- 2006 Czech Republic
- 2011 Spain
- 2016 Sweden
- 2021 Romania
Now for the first time cross-border: 2026 Czech Republic + Germany (also part of Deutscher Wandertag with 20-30 thousand visitors)
What can the participants expect?
- 50 hiking trails and guided day trips
- Stoneman Hike Challenge
- Cultural accompanying programme: concerts, markets, exhibitions
- Opportunity to participate in the creation of a memorial stone cairn (Stone Heart of Europe) + 2 photopoints
