Certified guide for the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. He previously headed the Bohemian Switzerland destination agency, where he worked on developing cross-border tourism and restoring the Hřebenovka trail in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. He is interested in the history of tourism in the North Bohemian border region, narrow-gauge steam railroads, and large late-Gothic churches.

I have lived in Teplice my entire life, ever since I was born in 1954. Professionally, I have taught German and Czech. I have collaborated on several cross-border Czech-German projects. I help organize trips to neighboring Saxony for tourists from Teplice. I travel throughout the Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy.

My name is Dr. Katja Schumann, and I live in Chemnitz, a city at the foot of the Ore Mountains with a population of just over 250,000. I hold a Level C hiking guide certification. I am an active member of the Chemnitz Hiking Club, where I lead one or more hikes every month.

My name is Helga Mühlmann. I live in Chemnitz; I used to be a master tailor, and I have been a member of the Chemnitz Hiking Club since 2004. I hold a Level C coaching license for recreational hiking. I lead monthly hikes in southwestern Saxony for the club.

I have been hiking since 1984, from low mountain ranges up to 2,000 meters. I have been leading group hikes for up to 30 people since 2017. I have been a certified hiking guide (DWV) since 2021, specializing in hikes for families and seniors. I have been a pilgrimage guide since 2024.

Veronika Kupková

She spends every spare moment exploring the Ore Mountains on foot, by bike, or on cross-country skis. Since 2015, she has been researching what disappeared beneath the surface of the Přísečnice Reservoir. She is a certified local heritage guide. She co-founded the association “Přísečnice Lives” and enjoys sharing interesting facts about the Přísečnice Valley with anyone who is interested.

Fabian Möpert

The Přísečnice Valley on both sides of the border is his home and a place he enjoys visiting by bike or on cross-country skis in every season. He is fascinated by the stunning natural beauty of the Ore Mountains and the region’s rich cultural landscape. Together with other members of the Přísečnice Association, he enjoys showing our guests its hidden traces and treasures.

Gunnar Rupsch

A sports enthusiast who loves to spend his free time in the great outdoors—whether by bike or on foot. He has long been interested in the life and history of the Ore Mountains on both sides of the border. That is the main reason he became a founding member of the regional association *Přísečnice žije-Pressnitz lebt*.

Irena Lenčová

A teacher, translator, and interpreter who loves spending time in the great outdoors and hiking in the mountains. From the very beginning, she has actively supported a wide range of cross-border activities in the Přísečnice area and is a proud member of the successful local association Přísečnice žije-Pressnitz lebt. She loves discovering the hidden beauty of the mountains.

Volker Weise

An expert on the Ore Mountains, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and the Balkans. He works as a teacher and translator. Whenever he can, he goes hiking in the mountains—not just the Ore Mountains, where he lives. He is one of the founding members of the “Přísečnice žije” association, and his hunting lodge serves as a venue for regular gatherings. Everyone is warmly welcome here.

We draw on more than a decade of experience in cross-border cooperation, not only in the Ore Mountains. We preserve the cultural legacy of the vanished town of Přísečnice and its inhabitants, regardless of the language they spoke. In addition to documenting cultural heritage, we seek, among other things, ways to meaningfully share it with today’s generation, and we organize Czech-German events. You can join us!

Baru from Teplice. I work for the National Heritage Institute and take care of Krásné Březno Castle and St. Florian’s Church in Ústí nad Labem. I love hiking, the mountains, and traveling, and I enjoy drawing and painting; I also sing in a hardcore punk band. The Ore Mountains are my favorite place.

I’ve lived in the Podkrušnohoří region my whole life, and I’ve explored the Ore Mountains far and wide—in every season, with my dogs, on cross-country skis or on horseback, on via ferratas, or rappelling down the local cliffs. I work in the region as a marketing consultant, and I really enjoy showing visitors around the places where I feel right at home.

A 78-year-old native of Kraslice, now living in the village of Rotava. A former gymnast, exercise is her life. She is still an instructor for “Sport for All.” She enjoys meeting new hikers and will do her best to show them the beauty and attractions of the Kraslice region.

I’m based in Boží Dar, in the heart of the Ore Mountains. I studied languages and history—and much more. I work in marketing in the automotive and chemical industries, as well as a high school teacher. I also work as an interpreter and translator. I’ve been active in sports since I was a child, both on land and in the snow, for both performance and fun.
Motto: Never stop learning from nature and the traditions of our ancestors, and pass on your knowledge to those who come after us. A good team is more than just one person!

Member of the Czech Tourist Club (KČT) Rumburk (certified hiking guide), editor-in-chief of Turistický magazín (www.turisticky-magazin.cz). Organizer of, among other events, the Karel Hofman Lusatian Memorial and the TURFEST.CZ hiking festival (5th edition). In 2025, I designed and installed informational panels along the Hřebenovka Krušné hory – East trail. I participate in the annual cycling tour of the Ore Mountains every year, so I know the terrain of the Ore Mountains quite well.

Nicole is a native of Chomutov. Although she has been living abroad for the past seven years and exploring the world, the Ore Mountains are her greatest love and the place to which she always returns after her travels—the place she considers her true home. She has a deep interest in the transformed Sudetenland and the genius loci of abandoned landscapes.

I’m 53 years old, I have three children (ages 27, 20, and 7), and right now my focus in life is on living better and, accordingly, taking good care of myself. I’m learning languages and pursuing other forms of education. I’ve moved out of the city, and unless I have to, I don’t go back there very often. My name is Patrik; Jan Zmeškal and I are friends, and I’ll be interpreting into Spanish. I love nature and art. I lived in Spain for several years, and I walked 7,777 kilometers across Western Europe with my guitar, slept under the open sky, and wrote a book about it called 1,000 Nights Under the Stars.

I’ve been visiting the Ore Mountains since 1973, thanks to a cottage I own in Háj pod Klínovcem. I’ve had many adventures here and have had the chance to watch how the people and the landscape have changed over the years. I travel a lot and enjoy exploring new places, but I always love coming back here. I work part-time as a mountain guide, and I enjoy astronomy, modern architecture, and good food.
