The trail around the idyllic village leads along picturesque paths through the lush green forests of the Ore Mountains.
This scenic hike begins in Breitenbrunn at the parking lot next to the playground. The pleasant trail leads uphill toward the cliffs. Here, a breathtaking panorama unfolds, offering the perfect spot for your first rest stop.
Hikers then continue into the lush green forest of the Ore Mountains. The trail winds through peaceful woodland around Rabenberg. After a short while, the view opens up again: this time to the entire Breitenbrunn Valley. The panorama is impressive and confirms that the hike truly lives up to its name, the “Panoramic Trail.” The trail leads past several houses, down the hill to the village road, crosses it, and on the opposite side gradually climbs through a small residential area. Soon, hikers reach the Breitenbrunn secondary school, the St. Christoph mine, and the small Hexenhäusel museum. The museum is open by appointment only and offers an interesting insight into the cultural history of the region.
The trail then gradually climbs, offering fascinating views back down into the valley. The route leads through picturesque hills to the edge of the forest before beginning its descent along a stone path. Here you can enjoy the view with every step you take. The final highlight is the Riedelfels, whose comfortable panoramic loungers provide the ideal place for a final rest with breathtaking views. The return journey, full of impressive scenery of the Ore Mountains, leads past the church in Breitenbrunn back to the starting point at the playground.
