German Federal President takes patronage of the event
A great honor for the Ore Mountains and for Europe: German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier takes over patronage of EURORANDO 2026.
Some time ago, Czech President Petr Pavel also granted his patronage. The fact that this exceptional tourist gathering is now supported by both heads of state is a strong sign of recognition for us—for our joint efforts, for the idea of a united Europe, and for cross-border solidarity in the Ore Mountains.
EURORANDO 2026 is also receiving strong support at the regional level: Saxony's Minister-President Michael Kretschmer and representatives of both regions on the Czech side – Jana Mračková Vildumetzová, Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region, and Richard Brabec, Governor of the Ústí nad Labem Region – have also taken patronage of the event. The fact that, in addition to both heads of state, the Free State of Saxony and the Karlovy Vary and Ústí nad Labem regions also support this European tourism meeting at the highest level underlines the importance of the event for our region. At the same time, it shows how important a role the Ore Mountains play as a symbolic bridge in the heart of Europe.
All of the patrons were delighted with our request for patronage. As hiker enthusiastic hiker , the Federal President hiker the special power of walking: conversations arise quite naturally when you are on the road. Step by step, openly, uncomplicatedly, and as equals. That is exactly what EURORANDO is all about. People from all over Europe meet on shared journeys, exchange ideas, and discover the landscape, culture, and history. Mr. Steinmeier wishes us every success with the event and hopes it will be a wonderful experience for the guests from all over Europe.
We are delighted to receive this recognition from the highest authorities. It underscores the importance of EURORANDO 2026 for European exchange and for our region. Now there is only one thing left to do: move forward together—and experience Europe in the Ore Mountains.
