Eurorando 2026 will be in the Ore Mountains

or We became the organizers of a spectacular tourist event

Since the beginning of the Erzgebirge Destination Agency's activities, we have been working intensively with our partners on the German side of the Erzgebirge. Now this joint activity is bringing the first significant success.

At its annual meeting in ILAWA, Poland, on 30 September 2023, the European Tourist Board decided to assign the international event EURORANDO 2026 to the Ore Mountains. The joint candidacy of the Destination Agency of the Erzgebirge, the Tourismusverband Erzgebirge and the Czech Tourist Club, coupled with a quality presentation of the Ore Mountains to the plenary of the European Tourist Association, was a success!

The event for 4-6 thousand tourists takes place once every 5 years and will take place in the Ore Mountains in September 2026 for the first time in history on the territory of two states at the same time! The magnetic centre of the Ore Mountains/Erzgebirge around the towns of Boží Dar, Loučná pod Klínovcem and Kurort Oberwiesenthal will be the centre of the event. However, the event will also have a significant impact on neighbouring villages and towns, such as Jáchymov, Kovářská, Vejprt and many others.

In addition to the diplomatic dimension, the event itself has an extraordinary economic benefit for the entire region. Several thousand tourists will set out for a week to discover the beauty of the mountains in the near and farther surroundings, and all participants will also be accommodated in the area. The total estimated amount of money spent on tourism in the region during this event is in the order of CZK 30-40 million.

Our main task now is to prepare the event so that the Ore Mountains are presented to European tourists in the best possible light, and also so that local people and entrepreneurs get the highest possible economic benefit from this event.
