EURORANDO 2026

Sales for bus tours and adventure trips have just begun!

Europe’s biggest tourism event of the year, EURORANDO 2026, is moving into the next phase of preparations. Ticket sales for the festival, priced at €10, began last fall. Starting this week, participants can reserve their spots on exclusive excursions and adventure trails. The offerings are very diverse—ranging from guided bus tours of historical sites to adrenaline-pumping via ferrata climbs or rafting down the Ohře River.

“EURORANDO isn’t just about walking; it’s about discovering the stories of the landscape on both sides of the border,” the organizers say. The excursion program is divided into four main categories so that there’s something for everyone—from casual hikers to sightseers to experienced mountaineers.

1. Hiking through the Ore Mountains

The main focus of the tourism festival is, of course, hiking. The organizers have prepared 31 guided hikes and 25 trails for independent hikers. The selection includes trails of various lengths and difficulty levels that will take visitors to the top attractions on both sides of the Czech-Saxon Ore Mountains. Participation in the guided hikes is included in the ticket price. All you have to do is choose a hike and reserve a specific date.

2. Explore in Comfort: Five Bus Routes

For those who want to combine hiking with comfort and expert commentary, full-day bus tours (routes A through E) are available. For a flat rate of €59, participants receive a complete package: transportation from key locations (Kurort Oberwiesenthal, Boží Dar, Loučná pod Klínovcem), guide services, all admission fees, and a full lunch. Selected routes also offer a pleasant stop for coffee and dessert.
The bus tours offer a variety of experiences across the Ore Mountains and cover mining history, local traditions and culture, and picturesque landscapes. Each of the five bus routes offers a unique perspective on the history and nature of the Ore Mountains:

  • Route A – The Ore Mountains Wilderness: From Shimmering Silver to Post-Apocalyptic Rolava
This tour takes you through the unique contrast between the opulence of Saxon Schneeberg with its rare altars and the raw beauty of “the Scandinavia of the Ore Mountains,” where, amidst deep peat bogs, you’ll discover the fascinating ruins of the modern-day Sauersack tin mines.
  • Route B – In the Footsteps of Silver and War Heroes
During this tour, you can admire the fascinating contrast between the magnificent architecture of Annaberg-Buchholz, the authentic adventure of the Ehrenfriedersdorf underground mines, and the turbulent history of the air battle over the Ore Mountains.
  • Route C – Against the Flow of Time: From the Baroque through Ore Mountain traditions to the Renaissance
In a single day, you’ll experience the spiritual tranquility of Baroque churches, the revival of folk traditions in Lesná, and the unique UNESCO-listed technical monuments in Renaissance-era Marienberg.
  • Route D – A Climb to the Heavens and the Charm of Folk Crafts
At St. Catherine’s Mountain, you’ll enjoy views of the surrounding landscape from above and into the earth’s depths. You can admire the skill and artistry of local craftsmen in the picturesque toy town of Seiffen and at the Saigerhütte ironworks museum in Olbernhau-Grünthal.
  • Route E – Unique Mining Sites on the UNESCO List
You’ll discover the longest tin ore vein and the largest tin sinkhole in Central Europe on your trip to the eastern Ore Mountains when you visit Krupka and Altenberg.

3. Adrenaline and Water: Extra Adventures

Active travelers can look forward to special packages for €69:

  • Monday and Tuesday (September 21–22): Rock climbing on the Erlabrunn via ferrata.
  • Wednesday through Friday (Sept. 23–25): A canoeing trip down the Ohře River.

The price includes transportation, rental of all professional equipment, instruction, and lunch.

4. Make a difference: Plant a new forest

EURORANDO is also committed to environmental protection. On Thursday , September 24, the “Something for Nature” event will take place near Oberwiesenthal. Participants can help plant new trees in person or contribute a symbolic €5 per sapling. You can reserve a specific time slot for planting in the “Extra Adventures” section.
