EURORANDO 2026

Tree Planting in Oberwiesenthal

A public tree-planting event will take place in the spa town of Oberwiesenthal on September 24, 2026. The event is part of EURORANDO 2026 and German Hiking Day, combining the event program with a concrete contribution to the local community.

In collaboration with Stiftung Wald für Sachsen and Sachsenforst, a total of approximately 2,500 trees—mostly silver firs—will be planted. Sachsenforst will provide the planting site and expert guidance.

Visitors can get actively involved: For 5 euros, you can purchase a tree and plant it right there on the spot. Alternatively, you can have a tree planted on your behalf if you are unable to attend the event.

The event will be complemented by a mobile forest education unit, which will offer insights into the forest and its development. Forest educators will share basic knowledge about the functions of the forest, current challenges, and measures for forest restoration.

Visitors can get actively involved: For 5 euros, they can purchase a tree and plant it right on the spot. The tree-planting campaign is therefore another element of the EURORANDO program that goes beyond hiking and creates a direct connection with the landscape.
