Public consultation on the EURORANDO 2026 project
In September this year, the Ore Mountains will host the European tourism festival Eurorando 2026. The Krušnohoří Destination Agency (DAK) is involved in the organization along with eight other partners. On Monday, March 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., DAK will hold a public discussion about the project at the Hotel Běhounek in Jáchymov.
Thanks to Eurorando 2026, the Ore Mountains will become a venue for an international gathering of tourists from September 20 to 27, 2026. The event, which has been held every five years in different parts of Europe since 2001, will be organized for the first time in two countries – the Czech Republic and Germany. The week-long program will allow participants to discover the region's natural beauty, historical monuments, and unique mining traditions. All this is supported by the Karlovy Vary Region, the Ústí nad Labem Region, and the Interreg Czechia-Saxony cross-border program.
Preparations for the event are in full swing. In January, all nine partners met in Johanngeorgenstadt. Thirty guided tours, twenty-five individual tours, and five bus trips have been prepared. Tickets are available for purchase on the website and have already been bought by more than 100 enthusiasts.
In order to inform the public transparently about the scope of the event and its course, the Krušnohoří Destination Agency is organizing a public discussion on the project. On Monday, March 16, at 5:00 p.m., representatives of the DAK will present the concept, scope, and details for organizing this year's Eurorando. They will also present all the participating locations and the accompanying program.
The event will also include a discussion during which Štěpán Javůrek, director of the agency, his deputy Jan Kerner, and Zdeňka Šrédlová, representing the Euroranda 2026 organizing committee, will answer questions from participants. The discussion is open to everyone; no prior registration is required.
