Besides Boží Dar, Ryžovna, Hřebečná and the former Špičák are the highest settlements in the Erzgebirge. Thousands of people lived here too. Today there is deserted but beautiful nature. Join us in imagining how life was lived in these exposed places!
Following the Jesus Trail, we will reach the beginning of the Blatná Trench, which is an important mining monument. Along it we will reach a large meadow, the former village of Ryzovna (Seifen). The former school building now houses a brewery and restaurant.
From here we will climb up to the former church of St. Wenceslas, where we will have Ryzovna as in the palm of our hand. We will reach the ridge between Hřebečná and Ryžovna and see the local basalt quarry, which is particularly photogenic today. Turn left at the Maringotka refreshment centre and walk through the forest towards the Dead Pond. This is a beautiful body of water under a peat meadow, which feeds it with naturally dark peaty water. We go back past Božídarský Špičák, where a settlement used to stand. We will not miss the Boží Dar peat bog with its nature trail and we will walk back to Boží Dar through it.
