47 🇩🇪 | Zwönitz Panorama Trail

In addition to breathtaking panoramic views, you will discover many interesting sights along the trail, both large and small, such as the Fuchsbrunn Bridge, the Headless Horseman statue, and remnants of the area's mining history.

From the square, the trail leads past St. Blaise's Church to the Stollberg Railway. Up to the junction at Niederzwönitz, you can enjoy views of the Zwönitz River all the way to the Geyers Forest. In front of St. John's Church, the trail climbs to Galgenspitze (Gallows Peak) with views of Zwönitz and Thalheim.

Around Hammerteich Pond and the waterfall, you will reach the ascent to the legendary Headless Horseman, which offers fantastic new views stretching as far as the Zwickau area. The trail then leads downhill to Kühnhaide along an idyllic stream and uphill to the Zwönitzblick lookout tower. From there, it continues to the old Scheibenberg railway line with a short detour to the impressive Fuchsbrunn bridge.

With a view of Schneeberg Mountain, you will return to Kühnhaide, passing Pauckner Tunnel and Holy Trinity Church.

Tip: The Huthaus Pauckner Stolln, featuring a show mine, old mine locomotives, and an outdoor area with a museum, will be open on Friday, September 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
